Unfortunately, realities on the ground in Eritrea have been antithetical to the very essence of this ideal governance model. One such target were refugee communities abroad comprising Eritreans who fled their country to escape repression. The motive behind this betrayal was obsessive patriotism for some, and pure opportunism for others.
