Anyone care to guess if any brands run them all the time?

Crankcase heaters: Are they smart? We suggest not registering using an AT&T, or Yahoo email address. Of course, most units don't even have a crankcase heater. It just depends on how the factory wired them up on that particular model. I don't know if you can say that one particular brand always has them or that they always wire them up a particular way.
